With the build complete it was time to go and ask my users what they thought - I was able to have 2 new users test the app this time again which was exciting!

Task: find a recipe using a butternut squash (provided) and mark it as complete in the app
The previous test plan had proved itself extremely useful so I adapted the questions for the new test.
I will be repeating the practice of saying ‘using this ingredient’ whilst handing my user the butternut squash as I tell them their task so that I pass as little direction or judgement into how they choose to input the ingredient into the app.
Contrary to last time, I have a “list of the essentials” (that only I can see) so that I can run through it at the start of the test and double check that I’ve said everything that’s important.
I am feeling a lot less nervous about these tests simply because I know that I have done user testing before and therefore I can do it again - sometimes being human is a little silly like this.
