Iteration 1 taught me that my onboarding was confusing
users didn;t fully understand the point of the app, having “carrots” in the copy confused a few users and no one remembered what the swap page was or how to get there.
Futhermore with the card sort and having a new direction when it came to searching for recipes - I wanted to adapt the onboarding so that it was more pervasive and when-you-need-it information.
As a result I chose to have the copy at the start focus more on meeting the user goal and explaining the two separate pages:

And make the search mechanic (with the filters being visible at all times in the search/results page) follow a familiar design pattern:
