This was a week of catching up and polishing previous blogposts, getting my work so far presentable and packaged up for the mid-project submission and trying to have a bit of a break.
The break in new content onslaught meant that I was able to catch up with everything and finally be on track with the work. The journal is always a lot more upkeep than I expect it to be, but I did what I had set out to do with my week. Going over the last two weeks also helps me appreciate just how much work I have been able to accomplish in 2 weeks and also just how much UX information you can get for a project in a short amount of time.
Towards the end of the week I travelled to visit my friends (this had been planned since last year) and the plan is to work from there next week, I have the space however to give myself a small break of a longer weekend.
I was very relieved that it was reading week so that there would be no new content for once and I could focus on polishing up the work so far, push my basic concept testing and actually have a chance at a breather.
The last few weeks have been catching up with me so it was good to be able to have a bit of a break at the end of the week, I am not sure however that it will be enough as I am feeling an illness starting up now that I have let my body relax.
In spite of how challenging the recent weeks have been, they have also been very exciting and it has been great to feel like I am taking active and practical steps in bettering my UX designer skillset. This is why I signed up for this masters after all. I’ve been doing lots of things for the first time which always makes me nervous but I have already learnt so much from it too and ultimately I find that I am quite proud of myself.
This week has gone well for me - I managed to catch up on all my work and be on track and even have a bit of a rest. The only negative is that I now feel an illness coming on from having allowed my body to rest a little which could be a complication for next week.
